Illustration Friday – Repair

just a quickie this week… so much for the vacation r&r… they're working me hard again… and again, i took a few liberties… the spirit of the season and all… maybe it's because i have been thinking about all that candy… and that got me to thinking about all the money i have recently been giving my dentist… and the combination of all of those things got me thinking that the repair of my teeth was sort of a frankenstien mess… and there you have it… re-pair!

This is part illustration and part collage of found images. The pear is mine… the rest… ?

And for those of you who always adhere to the literal take… see the stitches?

The colors are wonderful! This is a good take on our Franken-foods that the media is always yammering about. Very cool collage, love it!

I guess dentists are a tough subject right now. I've just had a complete 'smile makeover' to the tune of, well, let's just say many thousands...no insurance :P
At least I'm smilin' pretty!

it seems everyone can relate to the dentist story… how is this for a ghoulish dentist story…

it has been almost 20 years since my father died… and he too had a painful tooth story… too long except to say that in the end… he had a mouth full of gold… and before he died… he tried to get me to have it all pulled out of his head when he :no longer needed it"… suffice to say… i couldn't bring myself to do it… i did follow his wishes and spoke to his dentist… he thought the same thing… even in death, my father kept giving…

A handsome illustration with amazingly convincing digital blood..the contrast with the pear is helpful. My procedure with the dental bills is stretch out payment as long as possible in part because 15 minutes after I have it paid off, something ELSE goes wrong that costs another $700. Considering the state of my finances, I think I'm going to the local dental school from now on.

I think this is awesome! Nice job on the coloring and shading. The lamb in the back is great! The way the blood comes out shows great texture.

Very odd and unexpected, therefore, great. I can see your design sense entering this illustration.

I need dental insurance.
