Illustration Friday-MONSTER
This is a quick watercolor and colored pencil illustration. I wish I had more time as it was a very quick sketch. As I began to work on it, more and more ideas kept coming to me. Maybe one day, I'll find the time to finish this one.
wonderful color illustration; more friendly then scarey: thank goodness for that - enough evil monsters in the world already! wondering whose bed L is.
you know what? i forgot to tell you that i cannot see your webpage address if i click your name or your picture(the reason why i was not able to leave comments in your previous illos-only now). there's nothing in the blogger info id profile where i can go to the frontpage. i had to go to IF and look for your name which i have not much time to do because of the hundreds of entries but i'll just put you in my favorites and later in my link-if you don't mind.
First I love the colouring in this, the monster with his head coming through the window, nice and creepu and fun, could be me under those sheets, that slinker under the beds a nice touch to.
Oh I adore your work with colours. The room looks so full of monsters that I would also go under the sheet, or is there another monster there as well? Great drawing.
thank you all for the kind words… i really wanted the "window" to be a picture but it ended up looking like a window… oh well… the window moster is sort of an homage to "where the wilds things are"…
and i'm not so sure the one under the bed isn't HIDING from what's under the sheets…
I do understand the boy/girl underneath the blanket - two monsters are two too much! Or maybee it's one more monster underneath the blankett? I like your image, there's a story behind and some strong, simple elements.
Oh, yeah! That is TOO cute. What a great capture of all the possible bogey monsters that a young mind can conjure while he's beneath his white sheet shield. Hilarious!

i am curious what's under those sheets?
great illustration.
You captured the kids fear of hiding under the sheets wonderfully. Great job!
Wonderful illo!
Cute! Nicely rendered, too!
nice!

Looks like poor L is overrun with monsters.
Great illo.

I love this, and I think the sketchy feeling makes it lookk really good. It's as if I can feel the person under the covers trembling!
I love it!...especially the tail crawling from under the bed!! LOVE the coloring, and the lines! Awesome!
How sily to think about it, oh but not so silly when it happens.
I like all your stuff here.
Dzogchen.
Wot the L???
;-)
Love your multi-monster viewpoint, the fine colors, and the "I can't SEE you!!!" sheet-over-the-head monster protection defense.

It looks very very Kafkaesque. Nice!
So cute! Kinda like my blue room in the middle of the night ... spooky too!
