This is the first watercolor I ever attempted. I do hate publishing illustrations at hand, but I recently got swamped at work and it’s all I can do to keep up with what I have going. I have plans for quite a number of cats painting in the near future. When they are finished, I shall post them here.

Seems to me very difficult to paint a black cat that does not look like an ugly black stain! - and you reach that very well - a pretty black cat.

Thank you all for the kind words. I did write the words fior this picture just for Illustration Friday (for you all!) so I wasn't totally digging up the old work.
This is such a wonderful painting! I love the old man and the affection and companionship he shares with his furry friend. It's just such a warm image. :0)
