In the grasp, but the joke’s on him.
It's how I want it.
It is the way of our kind.
Let them think THEY are in control.
That purring is not the song of contenment,
But a silent snicker

This is the first watercolor I ever attempted. I do hate publishing illustrations at hand, but I recently got swamped at work and it’s all I can do to keep up with what I have going. I have plans for quite a number of cats painting in the near future. When they are finished, I shall post them here.
I agree - Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteSeems to me very difficult to paint a black cat that does not look like an ugly black stain! - and you reach that very well - a pretty black cat.
Yes, very good!
So touching and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAww. That's a really nice cat! Awesome! It's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI really like this - great words. Something about the salty old guy with his cat is touching indeed. Not bad for a first time watercolor attempt!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely great painting. Every detail is perfect.
ReplyDeleteAwh, you have captured so much in this painting. The old man and the cat, the colours and the poem- delightful and full of warmth. I love it.

ReplyDeleteThank you all for the kind words. I did write the words fior this picture just for Illustration Friday (for you all!) so I wasn't totally digging up the old work.
